LCVP
This forms part of the Department of Education's vocational provision at second level. It has a strong technological basis combined with a European language. Students who successfully complete this programme receive, in addition to the normal certificate, a special Certificate indicating the nature of their studies undertaken. LCVP can be counted as one of the 6 subjects for points.

MUSIC
Music will be available to all students who wish to study it in DLS College from September 2005. It will be timetabled for one day a week. However it will be necessary to charge a fee for these lessons. A school orchestra will rehearse before school or after school on the designated music day and the orchestra will play at school functions during the year. The Academy of Music examination will be held at the end of each term in the school, and the instruments can be used in the performance part of the Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate examination.

Examinations
Formal exams are held twice yearly, at Christmas and in the summer. Reports are sent home after these exams. Mock exams for Junior Certificate and Leaving Certificate are held usually in March of each year and again written reports are sent home. Students who do not sit the internal examinations may be required to sit such exams at an alternative time, before proceeding with their course.
