De La Salle Day On Friday May 13th, the school celebrated De La Salle Day with a host of events. A large group of students, mainly first and second years, made the journey to Carlingford Adventure Centre in Co. Louth to test their skills at rock climbing, canoeing, archery, pier diving and banana boating! This hugely enjoyable trip was organised by Ms. Doorley and the group was also accompanied by Mr. Diamond and Mr. McInerney. Back at school, "the long walk" was taking place. At 9.30 students were ferried by bus to Newcastle. Staff and students then hiked back to Wicklow along the seafront, which took a couple of hours. It was well worth the effort as everybody enjoyed a massive barbecue on their return. There were burgers, hot dogs, chicken and salad, while entertainment was provided M.C. Nicky de Courcey on the decks. The afternoon finished up with a range of activities for everyone, including 5-a-side soccer, tug of war, boules, and the welly toss. All in all a great celebration of school life for students and staff alike. |
